10 killed in ambush attack by gunmen on vehicle in Maban

At least 10 civilians were killed and others wounded after gunmen attacked a vehicle that they were travelling in at the Kudua area southwest of Maban in Northern Upper Nile State.

At least 10 civilians were killed and others wounded after gunmen attacked a vehicle that they were travelling in at the Kudua area southwest of Maban in Northern Upper Nile State.

The attack happened on Thursday evening.

Northern Upper Nile’s Minister of Information Sarah Alija told Radio Tamazuj that the culprits managed to escape after killing 10 civilians including women along the Bunj and Jamam road in the area of Maban.

The minister said the wounded people are receiving treatment in the town of Bunj. She said the government condemned the attack on innocent civilians.

Northeast Maban County Commissioner John Jerewa confirmed that 10 people killed and 2 children sustained injuries after the attack.

The local county official said the incident involved 5 men and 5 women, while accusing rebel forces of involvement in the incident.

An eyewitness confirmed the incident and said those who died in the attack were buried in the town of Bunj today.
