10 inmates released from Wau Prison
At least 10 inmates charged with different crimes were released from Wau Central Prison in South Sudan’s Wau State on Monday.
Michael Atok, director of the Wau central prison, said that the decision was taken in line with directives of President Salva Kiir.
The official revealed that the South Sudanese leader has recently pardoned hundreds of prisoners serving in prisons across the country.
Michael called on the released inmates in Wau to refrain from committing crimes so they don’t return to prison again.
The released inmates praised the initiative taken by President Kiir to order their release. They expressed happiness to reunite with their families.
