Eresto Taban, Lainya County Commissioner, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that unknown gunmen attacked a vehicle carrying people at Khor Langa area along the Juba-Yei road on Wednesday.

He further said the incident resulted in the killing of at least seven people and wounding of seven others including five soldiers and two women. He pointed out that the wounded people were taken to Juba for treatment.

Separately, about three people were confirmed killed and three others wounded in another attack by gunmen along the Juba-Yei road near Jebel Kenyi in Loka on Monday, according to a survivor.

Gatluak Deng, who survived the attack, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the armed group opened fire at a convoy of six vehicles near Jebel Kenyi along the Juba-Yei road on Monday.

He pointed out that the incident resulted in the killing of at least three people and wounding of three others.
