A person was killed and three others injured in an attack carried out by armed men in the area of Doleib Hill in South Sudan’s Central Upper Nile State on Friday.
Wilson Akot Ajawin, a traditional leader of Doleib Hill, was among the injured.
Paulo James Tor, a member of Ajawin’s family, told Radio Tamazuj Friday that unknown gunmen believed to be from Obel area carried out the attack.
He identified the deceased as Anthony Rongo. Tot pointed out that the injured were admitted at Malakal Teaching hospital.
Michael Guang, a local official in Doleib Hill, confirmed the incident, saying the unknown attackers also looted the local chief's belongings.
He said states authorities from the capital, Malakal visited the site of the attack, but details on the incident were not provided.
Radio Tamazuj was unable to reach authorities in Malakal.
