The commissioner for Mundri East County, Margret Fozia, confirmed the attack and told Radio Tamzuj Thursday that the incident happened between Kowabu and Doro in Laniya Payam along the Juba-Mundri highway. She said the trucks and their cargo burnt to ashes.

“The general situation of Mundri East County is fair this (Thursday) morning after yesterday’s (Friday) incident that happened at 8:00 am in which one driver was killed and vehicles burned,” she said. “Motorists are now moving on the road. The driver killed is a Sudanese national and the other drivers are alive. One driver is however still missing.”

Commissioner Fozia appealed to the armed youth to return home and participate in developing the country.
