The newly appointed chief in Abiriu County, Gok state, Majak Lual Ater Maluk has resigned from his position, citing lack of cooperation with the county commissioner
The chief, who resigned from his position on Tuesday, attributed the cause of his decision to misunderstanding between him and the county commissioner, county Bol Madok Dhuol.
Majak also pointed out that one of the things he has resigned is a heavy tax of 1000 SSP, two tins of groundnut and five tines of sorghum to be paid per a tax payer. In a separate development, five chiefs are reported to have been arrested by the County Commissioner for opposing him.
Makeror Jier Makeror, one of the chief arrested by the commissioner told Radio Tamazuj that he and other four chiefs were called by the commissioner of Abiriu county for a meeting and from there they were arrested and taken to police prison until they will be finally taken to court for investigation.
