A Maternity Officer at the Yida refugee camp in Unity state disclosed the site has at least 1,450 children living on the streets who are "eating leftover food as the general health conditions in the area deteriorate."

Khalida Al Sinosi also suggested that humanitarian aid organizations operating in the camp are subjecting the children to “silent abuse and punishment". She called upon the agencies to look after the minors.
