Yei town council lunches clean-up campaign

Authorities in Yei town on Monday launched an environmental cleaning campaign in Yei town, saying the mova aims to control diseases in the area.

Yei town clerk Azariah Khamis said in a press statement that the campaign covered residential areas, business centers, government institutions and premises being used by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

“Most of the places, compounds, houses and plots are dirty. That is why we launched a general cleaning exercise to maintain good shape of the town including government institutions, NGOs and business places,” he said.

“For dirty places like government institutions and NGOs we charge them 3,000 SSP. Other companies we charged them 2,000 SSP while dirty tea places and houses we charge them 500 SSP, and this policy is a routine move and any person who violates it will be continuously punished,” he added.
