"Sudan Appeal" alliance meets al-Hilu’s faction in Ethiopia

An alliance bringing together Sudanese opposition political parties under the "Sudan Call" met with leaders of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-North) group led by Abdel-Aziz al-Hilu in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa on Friday.

The team from the internal groups of the opposition umbrella Sudan Call inside the country was led the Deputy Head of the National Umma Party (NUP) Mariam al-Mahdi.

According to a statement released after the meeting on Friday and seen by Radio Tamazuj, the two sides emphasized the importance of unity between opposition groups to achieve their common goal.

For its part, the SPLM-North faction led by Malik Agar faction issued a statement on Saturday disqualifying the Addis Ababa saying Mariam Assadiq was not officially delegated by the Sudan Call group to meet Al-Hilu’s faction.

Agar accused Mariam of deepening the rift between the two SPLM-North factions.
