Two people killed in grenade blast in Jeblein

The explosion of a hand grenade in Jeblein town in White Nile near the border with South Sudan resulted in the death of two people yesterday. A witness said that the victims were found dead in the market after the blast.

One victim was killed on the spot, Bushra Mohamed Bushra, a citizen of Renk who worked at Jeblein market. The other victim, Al Sadig Abdelrasul succumbed to his wounds while en route to the hospital in Kosti.

Security authorities in Jeblein denied that the explosion was deliberately triggered. They suspected the victims were responsible for the blast. They suggested that the victims had unwittingly removed the pin from the hand grenade, leading to the explosion.
