Sudanese residents in Wau, show support for President Kiir

More than 900 Sudanese residents of Wau, the capital of Western Bahr Al Ghazal in South Sudan, went out yesterday in a peaceful demonstration.

Demonstrators went to the state's administration to pledge support for President Salva Kiir's decision to stop oil production, as well as against the repeated shelling of Blue Nile and South Kordofan.

A demonstrator told Radio Tamazuj that Sudanese citizens of the area understood the decision taken by Kiir, following failed oil negotiations between the governments of Sudan and South Sudan.

Activists handed the state's authorities a memorandum including their support for Kiir, condemning the strikes in the two states and praising the treatment of Sudanese citizens in South Sudan by Southern citizens.
