China called for calm and restraint in resolving the oil conflict between Sudan and South Sudanon Sunday.

The spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Liu Wei-Min, said that China hopes the two sides reach a compromise in their negotiations.

The negotiations began yesterday in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa.
