Two SPLM officials detained in Ruweng for criticizing governor
Two senior SPLM officials in South Sudan’s Ruweng State have been detained for allegedly criticising the party in the state on Monday, an SPLM youth leader said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, Michael Malual, head of the SPLM Youth League in Ruweng State said Governor Miyol Kur Akuei arrested the former Commissioner of Pariang County Monylang Manyiel and another party official for criticizing him.
Michael noted that the differences between the governor and the dissident group led by Monylang Manyiel deepened after the state government rejected any meet between Manyiel's group and the National Minister of Petroleum Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth who visited the area last week.
The youth leader accused the state governor of working without involving SPLM members in the state and that he does want to hold dialogue within the SPLM party in the state.
Radio Tamazuj could not reach the state governor to comment on the matter.
