Villagers in Otallo area of Adongo County in Pochalla are living in fear because of lions that are allegedly terrorizing people and attacking cows in the area.

Otallo is located about 34 kilometers southwest of Pochalla town.

Adongo County Commissioner Yusuf Omany told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that the locals have been advised to be careful while going to the river frequently for fear of being attacked by the beast.

He pointed out that lions on Wednesday attacked cows, causing fear among local residents in Otallo. “This is a real threat to our citizens in Otallo,” he said.

“If these wild animals are not carefully monitored, they may attack many farmers who go onto their farms,” a local resident of Otallo called Ochwa Akway said.

Separately, a man survived an attack by a lion in Nyoum area which is located south of Pochalla. The man reportedly shot dead the lion in self-defense.
