The deputy governor of South Sudan’s Lol resigned from his position while telling President Salva Kiir and his cronies "you lack vision".

Lual Dau Marach said in a resignation letter dated May 19, said he decided to quit the government because President Salva Kiir is someone who would never bring change in the country.

“President has, lamentably, allowed the Jieng (Dinka) Council of elders to tarnish the image of the Dinka and the country by extension. They have succeeded in giving birth to an intolerable monster, deadly regional politics,” Lual wrote in a three page resignation letter.

The former deputy governor said Kiir divided the country into ethnic enclaves and took troubles to these states instead of taking services to the people in conformity to the vision of the ruling party.

“President Kiir has split South Sudan into ethnic enclaves. Instead of taking towns to people, president Kiir has, in the word of Dr.Majak D’ Agoot, he has taken troubles to states. My own state, Lol, is one of those with no vision or system in place”, he said.

He further accused Governor Rizik Hassan Zachariah of running the state with an iron fist and harbouring Sudanese rebels in the area despite commitment of the government in Juba to normalize relations with Sudan.

“Only the governor runs the show.  Governor Rizik has treacherous vision of diving Lol state into two. One of his rebel ministers, Omer Ishaq Mohamed, has invested so much time and resources into ruinous endeavour. That explains they are killing our people in Raja,”he wrote.

Lual called on all opposition groups to unite their ranks to topple Kiir’s government in Juba.
