Kuol Manyang’s daughter appointed as Jonglei’s information minister

The governor of Jonglei State has appointed Atong Kuol Manyang as the new minister of information replacing Jacob Akech Deng.

Atong's father Kuol Manyang Juuk is the country’s minister of defense, who also retains his position as head of the Jonglei state ruling party SPLM.

According to gubernatorial decrees seen by Radio Tamazuj today, Governor Philip Aguer in a major reshuffle also appointed Racheal Amuor Pach as the new minister of health succeeding Angok Gordon.

The state governor also appointed Jacob Akech as the new commissioner of Duk Padiet and Michael Malual Wuor as the new chairperson of the economic and social development commission replacing Isaac Mamer Ruk.

Philip also appointed Nhial Awan Deng as the new deputy chairperson of the economic and social development commission.

He also sacked Suzan Lith Aluong from her position as adviser for political affairs and John Amuor Kuol as technical adviser for land and survey.

The decrees went into effect as from today.
